Same ingredients as Kukicha but caffeine-free, withered and pan fire roasted. Since it is fired at hight temperatures the kukicha alters the leaf color tints from green to reddish brown. It is less astringent due to this process and loses the benefits of a standard green tea.
In addition to the fresh nutty flavor produced by the roasting process, the resulting decaffeination from the extensive roasting time makes Kuki Houji perfect for children and all who are very sensitive to caffeine.
